Association for Multicultural Behavioral Health, LLC
Multicultural and Multilingual Mental Health Services
The Association for Multicultural Behavioral Health (AMBH) was founded in 2014 by Angelika Danek, LCSW, CRADC, whose years of clinical and community-based experience revealed how difficult it can be to find mental health care that is not only clinically competent, but also culturally and linguistically responsive.
Through her work with individuals and families from diverse immigrant communities, Angelika recognized a persistent gap in behavioral health care. People could often find a therapist, but not necessarily a clinician who understood the language they spoke at home, the culture that shaped them, their family dynamics, or the complexities of building a life between different cultures.
AMBH was created to help bridge that gap and to build a model of care in which cultural understanding is not an additional service, but an integral part of quality mental health treatment.
What began as a small multicultural practice has grown under Angelika’s leadership and vision into a multidisciplinary behavioral health organization serving children, adults, couples, and families from many different backgrounds. Today, our team brings together clinicians with diverse cultural identities, languages, specialties, and therapeutic approaches, while remaining connected by the same principle on which AMBH was founded: people receive better care when they feel genuinely understood.
As the needs of our communities have changed, AMBH has continued to evolve.
We have expanded beyond traditional psychotherapy to provide specialized trauma treatment, family and relationship services, substance use and recovery services, forensic and immigration evaluations, supervised parenting services, and innovative mind–body and wellness approaches.
Despite that growth, the philosophy behind AMBH has remained remarkably simple: we see the person before the diagnosis and the story behind the symptoms.
Our Mission
Our mission is to rebuild lives, restore families, and strengthen communities by providing comprehensive behavioral health services that are clinically excellent, culturally responsive, linguistically accessible, and tailored to the individual needs of every person and family we serve.
We are committed to creating an environment where people from diverse backgrounds can receive high-quality care while feeling understood, respected, and supported throughout their journey toward healing and meaningful change.
Our Vision
Our vision is to advance a model of behavioral health care where clinical excellence, cultural understanding, accessibility, and innovation come together.
We envision communities where every person—regardless of language, culture, background, or life experience—can access behavioral health care without unnecessary barriers or stigma.
As behavioral health continues to evolve, AMBH strives to evolve with it by integrating established evidence-based treatment with advances in trauma therapy, neuroscience, mind–body approaches, and other innovative areas of care.
Our vision is not simply to treat symptoms, but to help individuals and families build healthier lives, stronger relationships, greater resilience, and lasting emotional wellbeing.
